Women’s World 10-Ball Championship Supported by Philippines Sporting Associations
The Women’s World 10-Ball Championship will be sanctioned by the BSCP and the BMPAP, two of the leading governing bodies of billiards in the Philippines. The event will take place at SM Mall North Edsa in Manila on June 2-6,2009. Dragon Promotions will also be assisted by its local partner Bugsy Promotions, one of the top management groups in the Philippines representing players such as Ronnie Alcano and Dennis Orcullo.
Two time World 9-Ball Champion Ga Young Kim (Korea), World #1 Monica Webb (USA), 2008 Player of the Year Kelly Fisher (England), Japanese Champion Akimi Kajitani and World Games Gold Medalist Jasmin Ouschan (Austria) are just some of the all stars of female talent attending the event. Filipina talents Rubilen Amit (2007 World Championship runner -up) and Iris Ranola (2nd Place US Open) will be the top two hot local favorites.

The historic event is considered to be the biggest women’s sporting event of the year for the Philippines, and will have massive media attention including 25 hours of live coverage on ABS-CBN, the leading TV channel of the Philippines. 48 women from around the globe will attend the event vying for $20,000 (1M) 1st place prize out of the $75,000 (3.75M) purse available. SM Mall North Edsa and JBETPOKER.net are some of the primary sponsors of the event.
