Stewart Warnock was the winner of the February 11 stop of the Tri-State Tour, notching five matches on the one-loss side to reach the finals against Joe Palone. The $500-added 9-ball event hosted 38 players at Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ.

Palone went through the brackets unchallenged, defeating Scott Simonetti in the winners’ side final four 7-5 to reach the hot seat match. There he faced off against Keith Diaz, who had just sent Eddie Perez to the west side of the chart 6-4. It was a narrow victory, but Palone pulled off the 7-5 win.
After a fourth-round loss to Simonetti, Warnock trudged through the brutal bracket. It took him two hill-hill victories to reach Simonetti and a chance to earn revenge, but Warnock won their match 7-4. He then forged ahead to the quarterfinal match, where he shot down Perez 8-3.
Yet another double-hill thriller for Warnock came in the next round, when he played Diaz in the semifinal match. After a 7-6 win, Warnock was off to meet Palone in the finals, and he kept his hot streak going by claiming the title 9-5.
